We are presently forming groups of people drawn from different neighbourhood churches that would meet from time to time for a drink, a meal, etc to get to know one another and to share how we each live out our faith in our various church traditions. Interested? Contact fr Mark for more information.
All are welcome to come to the Chaplaincy flat, 12 avenue de la Forêt Noire, every Tuesday from 18h30 to 19h30 for a time to pray. Whether you are new to prayer, frustrated with prayer or an experienced practitioner, you will find a place alongside others in all simplicity and in a spirit of mutual encouragement. If you are not able to join us physically, you can pray with us and for us where you are. You can also leave your requests for prayer in the box at the back of the church.
Join us at 9h00 this Saturday 15th September for a discussion on God taking pleasure in us, led by Astrid Murfitt of Agape Europe. We will meet at the Eglise Evangélique Mennonite, 32 rue de l’Industrie, 67400 Ilkirch Graffenstaden (Tram A, E to Campus Ilkirch Graffenstaden).

On Sunday 30th September the Rt Revd Robert Innes, Bishop of the Diocese in Europe, will be at St Alban’s for the Licensing of Ozichi Baron and Catherine Emezie to the ministry of Readers in the Church of England. Readers are trained and licensed to preaching, teach, lead worship and assist in pastoral, evangelistic and liturgical work. Please pray for them as they prepare for this important day.
‘James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ.’ So begins this brief writing of the New Testament, penned during a time of mounting difficulties for the early Christian movement. Its overall theme is perseverance to live consistently what we say we believe. James is full of practical instruction on doing just that: applying the Gospel to everyday life.
You are encouraged to study prayerfully the Letter of James over the coming weeks. Each Sunday’s sermon in September will be based on the readings that are taken from James. Here below is a simple outline of the main points. The passages which appear in bold are those that will be read on Sundays.
1.1 Salutation
1.2-16 Rejoicing in trials
1.17-27 Be doers of the word and not just hearers (2 September)
2.1-17 Partiality and the royal law of love (9 September)
